How to: Add multimedia in a presentation.
Solution:
Prepare the media in its own application, then use the 'Insert' menu to insert the desired multimedia object.
NOTE: Select and prepare the media (graphics or pictures, sound, video clips or any PowerPoint object and text can be considered media) before attempting to use multimedia in the PowerPoint presentation.
1) To add clip art from the Microsoft ClipArt Gallery:
a) Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Clip Art...' (The 'Microsoft ClipArt Gallery 2.0' dialog box appears.)
b) Select a category from the 'Categories' scroll-down list box.
NOTE: Select '(All Categories)' to view all clip art items.
c) Select the desired picture from the 'Pictures' list box. (The picture is highlighted and the description and filename with path name appear at the bottom of the dialog box.)

NOTE: Use the scroll bar to access more choices.
d) (Optional) Select the 'Display as Icon' check box to display the object as an icon.
NOTE: If the 'Display as Icon' check box is selected, the icon of the current 'Object Type' group selection and the 'Change Icon' button appear. Click 'Change Icon' to select a different icon.
e) Click 'Insert'. (The selected clip art appears in the current slide of the presentation.)
2) To add pictures:
a) Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Picture...' (The Insert a Picture dialog box appears.)
b) Locate and select a picture file from the 'Look in' drop-down list box from the hard drive or network to insert.
NOTE: Picture files can be found on the Microsoft Office CD.
c) Click 'OK.' (The picture appears in the current slide of the presentation.)
3) To add sound:
a) Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Sound...'
b) Locate and select a sound from the 'Look in' drop-down list box from the hard drive or network drive to insert.
NOTE: Sounds can be found on the Microsoft Office CD.
c) Click 'OK.' (The sound appears as an icon on the current slide of the presentation.)
4) To add video or movie clips:
a) Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Movie...'
b) Locate and select a movie or video clip from the 'Look in' drop-down list box from the hard drive or network drive to insert.
NOTE: Movie or video clips can be found on the Microsoft Office CD.
c) Click 'OK.' (The first frame of the movie appears on the current slide of the presentation.)
